Tablet PC

A portable computer with touch screen capabilities and pen based input.

Teleworking

Using a computer ( connected via the Internet ) to work from any other (than the place of work) remote location.

Terabyte (Tb)

240 ( = 1,099,511,627,776) bytes

TeraHertz (THz)

1012 ( = 1,000,000,000,000) Hz

The Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

A set of rules that describe how information is sent and received over the world wide web.

Touch Screen

A type of screens that is sensitive to human touch and allows interaction with computers.

Touchpad

A device that allows the user to use his finger to select options (instead of using a mousse).

Trojan Horse

An application that appears to be a useful or harmless application but in fact performs harmful operations without the user realizing it.

Uniform Resource Locator (URL)

A naming convention used to locate resources in the internet. Example: www.newtechnologysite.com/index.html.

Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS)

A device that keep your computer supplied with electrical energy, for a limited period of time, in case the main supply goes down.

Universal Serial Bus (USB)

Connectors that let you connect mousse, printers and many other devices to your computer quickly and easily.

Upload

Send data and information from your computer (or the one you are using) to another remote computer.

Username

A name given or created, that is usually needed to access websites, accounts, services … over the internet.
