Hacking

The way of breaking into computer systems illegally.

Hard Disk

A storage media with large capacity used to store most of the user's data.

Hardware

All physical devices making a computer system.

Hertz

Unit of frequency meaning one cycle per second.

Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML)

A mark up language used to display webpages using browsers.

Information Technology (IT)

The technology that uses computers and other peripherals to receive, process, send, store and display information.

Input Device

A device that allows information to be entered into the computer.

Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN)

A set of rules for digital transmission over ordinary telephone wire as well as over other media.

Internet

A global network connecting millions of computers and other smaller networks where information and many other services may be accessed.

Internet Explorer

A web browser, to display web pages, developed by Microsoft.

Internet Firewalls

A software and hardware tools that help protect computer systems in large organisations.

Internet Protocol (IP) Address

Every computer in a network has a numerical label, called IP address, associated with it.

Internet Service Provider (ISP)

An organization that provides internet services.

Intranet

A network within a company or organization used by the employees to access data.
