Modify Page Layout for an iBook

Once you have access to the layout pane of an iBook, select the page layout as shown in the picture below. Some of the changes that may be made to the page layout are similar to those described in details in modifying chapter layout.

Modifying the background of the page: Select a shape as shown below.

Go through the steps 1 to 4 as shown in the picture and described as follows
1 - click the inspector
2 - click on graphics
3 - click the square inside the inspector
4 - select the color for the background of your pages.

Stretch the shape to cover all the page.

Use "Arrange" in the menu then click on "Send to Back".

The color selected above becomes the background color.

Once you have created the page layout, it is time to use it. Use insert in the menu as follows
Insert > Pages > Pages > 1 column (this is the name of the layout page that you modified above).

Now the page have been inserted and may be used. Click on the section in the book pane. Start writing from the right side of the section and continue writing into the new page. As a page becomes full, a new page is created automatically.
